Rogue Wave Software Celebrates Zend Framework 3

With support for PHP 7, middleware runtime, and performance improvements

Rogue Wave Software is excited to share the release announcement of Zend Framework 3, an open source framework for developing web applications and services. This release, the first major release in four years, continues the Rogue Wave commitment to the open source and PHP communities, and the ever-increasing support for PHP 7.

With the recent releases of PHP 7 and Zend Server 9, and now the release of Zend Framework 3, the Zend team has been working hard to make it easier for programmers to develop, debug, monitor, and deploy modern web and mobile apps in PHP 7.

Zend Framework 3 was developed with a use-at-will architectural structure, so developers have the freedom to use the components within Zend Framework applications or within any other framework. This freedom helps to reduce dependencies and creates turn-key solutions for integrating with Zend Framework, Expressive, and other frameworks. This provides greater reuse within the PHP ecosystem, prevents vendor lock-in, and increases release velocity.

Additionally, Zend Framework 3 comes with Expressive, a middleware runtime that focuses on simplicity and interoperability. Expressive allows developers to provide interfaces for routing and templating, letting each person choose what to use, and how it should be implemented. The unique Expressive installer allows developers to select choices when starting a project, reinforcing the value of individualization.
